General Questions

Q: What is GoalDog?

A: GoalDog is a personal finance app that helps you track your wealth goals and build financial freedom through simple, goal-focused tracking. Instead of tracking every transaction, you update your total assets weekly and track progress toward your goals.

Q: Is my data safe?

A: Yes! All your data is stored locally on your device. We never collect, store, or transmit your personal information. Your privacy is our top priority.

Q: What platforms does GoalDog support?

A: GoalDog is currently available for iOS devices (iPhone and iPad).

Subscription & Pricing

Q: What's the difference between free and premium?

A: Free users can create 1 financial goal, but asset updates require a subscription. Premium subscribers get unlimited goals, unlimited updates, complete analytics, and data export features.

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?

A: Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions, find GoalDog, and cancel your subscription. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Q: Can I get a refund?

A: Refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store. Please contact Apple Support or visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund.

Q: What happens if I delete the app?

A: Since all data is stored locally on your device, deleting the app will delete all your data. We recommend exporting your data (premium feature) before uninstalling if you want to keep a backup.

Using the App

Q: How do I create a financial goal?

A: Tap the "Create Now" button on the home screen, then fill in your goal details (name, target amount, target date) and save.

Q: How often should I update my assets?

A: We recommend updating your total assets 1-2 times per week. This gives you a good balance between tracking progress and not being too tedious.

Q: Can I track multiple goals?

A: Free users can track 1 active goal. Premium subscribers can track unlimited goals simultaneously.

Q: How do I export my data?

A: Data export is a premium feature. Go to "My" > "Data Export" (for premium users) to export all your data in JSON format.

Technical Issues

Q: The app crashes or doesn't work properly

A: Please try the following:

  • Restart the app
  • Update to the latest version from the App Store
  • Restart your device
  • If the issue persists, contact us with details about the problem

Q: My subscription isn't working

A: Try restoring your purchases: Go to "My" > "Paid Features" > "Restore Purchases". If that doesn't work, check your subscription status in Apple's Settings app.
